Jul 15 - musings (again)

It appears that ‘Sunday’ is going to be my day for ‘musings’ - or thoughts a bit ‘off on a tangent’. . . . I get up, turn on the coffee. . . get that first cup . . .then ‘usually’ head back here to the computer. . . (unless other things beckon that early for that day). . As the caffeine takes hold my brain starts to function. . (yes, I need that morning ‘kickstart’). . . I check my mail, answer some (time permitting). .and since we have started this site, try to put thoughts together for what I should write a post about. . . This morning several ideas came to mind - plenty to write about and I need to sort and try to put some order to these thoughts. . . . then time (the clock) took over and sent me scurrying to get ready for Church. . . .

Hours later - after the Sunday service, and a bite to eat at some local restaurant or fast food place - I sit back down here in front of the computer. . . and the ‘morning thoughts’ have vanished. . . So - so much for my good intentions . . .But, it has been several days since I have made a post. . . days spent busy with other projects, including the working out of the floor plan for our home - one which I ‘think’ I have accomplished to some degree of accuracy in what we want (though I do intend to add another two feet to the overall width). . and I do want to keep the motivation flowing for making regular additions here. .

Hence - the category of “off on a tangent” has been born. . . Who knows what future Sundays will bring by way of what I find to write about. . . But ‘this’ Sunday I would like to mention a visitor that we had to this site, a visitor who has a site of their own where much more than the story of building their home in the Yucatan is being told. . Working Gringo’s site, Yucatan Living, holds a wealth of information on what they have learned in their own process of building a home. . . along with some of the problems encountered along the way. .I have already found the answer to some of the questions I had been wondering about there. . .(such as - how and where do they do the plumbing and electrical in the concrete walls??). . and I will continue to follow their progress in the building of their home as we delve into the ’start’ of our own. . . a long way off yet for us, as at this stage of our project we have only just purchased the lot and are just now getting into the planning state. .

I have drawn up the floor plans. . . sketches, but to scale, in order to determine that all will fit. . . Other projects, and chores here at home, suffer - while this undertaking, and trying to keep up with posts here, consume me. . I need to refine these plans a bit more before I post them here. . . . and then I hope to do a rendering (artist’s conception) of what we ‘hope’ the finished home will look like. . . My hands are rusty at this. . . it has been years since I worked in the drafting field, (back in the dinosaur era where drawings were done by hand, no computer auto-cad) - and my tools have mostly vanished. . . but I have kept some art skills alive by dabbling in art to various degrees (as in my galleryat zazzle.com). . . and perhaps I can create an acceptable version of a beach side view of our future home in Chelem. . . in the Yucatan of Mexico. .

I will sign off now. . . God bless to all . . . take care and have a wonderful day. .
