Good Day All - Hope you are also good today …
Well, as stated earlier, I had been surfing the net on Mexico and a few folks were talking and leaving post on some sites about the Yucatan, mainly an area near Merida. Merida is a town of 1,000,000 plus people. It has been known for quite some time as the White City, I think because it is so clean and well kept by the locals. The only way to learn more is of course to Google it and find out the history of Merida and surrounding area.
The Yucatan is a mystery to me and others as you hear very little about the place. The areas that are generally frequented by the tourists or the border towns where trouble is always brewing are the locales you generally hear of.. The portion of Mexico known as the Yucatan seems to have been ruled in the past by Mayans. Guess I will have to find out about that bit of info… I did find find out from other sites that the beach towns near Merida are becoming of interest to the Gringo and Canadian folks who are in a search for retirement property abroad.Â
The primary town I hear about on the beach is a port town of Progreso.. . .Progreso turns out to be a lazy little port town with a brand new ship docking facility which cruise ships have already started using..
Well I guess I have a lot of net surfing to do to get some information on this area called the Yucatan and it’s capitol called Merida. Really don’t think it is as laid back as some are saying, as a few are calling this place a lost paradise .. Ya Think ?
Well gotta go - got a little work around the Texas place to do…
Have a Good One
